Baked Walleye (fish)
June 16, 2012Locally where I am (off Lake Erie) Walleye is a big deal because it is found in abundance in the Lake, right down the road, I can literally walk down there and catch some, with my bare hands. Of course I went down to the market and bought some, from Canada. Males sense right? Anyway… Put some foil in a baking pan and lightly coat with butter substitute (olivio) and place walleye fillets skin side down in ban. Pour some lemon juice and olive oil over fish. Sprinkle some garlic, basil and onion salt over fish. Cover with foil. Bake on 350 for about 20 minutes, uncover and bake about five more minutes. Despite its popularity around me I had never had walleye before so this was my first time. I wasn’t crazy about it. Wasn’t bad but wouldn’t be my first choice.
Let me know what you think...
